Sr. z/OS Systems Programmer - Northern Virginia

An immediate need exists for an experienced z/OS systems programmer to join a talented staff in support of government client in Northern VA. Qualified candidates will have experience supporting recent z/OS environments (z/OS 1.13 preferred). Experience with Sysplex configuration, Unix Systems Services (USS), Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP), IODF, or HCD is a plus. Responsibilities will include OS and ISV installation and maintenance, so in-depth experience with SMP/E is a must. In addition to traditional duties such as problem determination/resolution, performance tuning and end user support, this person will assist with planning, coordinating and managing technical projects as well as providing strategy for implementation of new technologies. This is a 90 day contract-to-hire opportunity with a six-figure conversion salary.

Senior Systems Programmer - Performance Specialist

An Ohio area end user is currently looking for a seasoned mainframe performance tuning specialist to assist the applications staff in the modification of critical applications (COBOL & Assembler). Experience in the use of Strobe and Omegamon for performance analysis as well as SAS and MXG for performance reporting are required. Knowledge of WLM is a plus. This person will also be responsible for installation of systems software and general support of the z/OS Parallel Sysplex environment. A base salary in the low six-figures, plus bonus, and full suite of company paid benefits will have this position filled quickly so don't delay in responding if interested!
