z/OS Product Developer - Work from Home

A small, privately held software vendor has an immediate need for an expert 390/assembler product developer with an intimate knowledge of z/OS and JES2 internals as well as task-level control block structures. Qualified candidates must have five or more years experience in commercial product development and a thorough understanding of MVS internals (with exposure to the operating system's spooling, scheduling, and management facilities). Strong problem determination and debugging skills (IPCS, XDC) are an absolute must. This is a work-from-home position using web-based collaboration tools for meetings and informal discussions. Our client has created a very employee-friendly work environment which offers an exceptionally high base salary potential that could also include discretionary annual bonuses and profit sharing.

z/OS Customer Support Engineer (L1/L2) - Northeastern U.S.

A successful software vendor has an immediate need for a z/OS systems engineer to support the mainframe piece of an acclaimed enterprise product line. This person will provide telephone and occasional on-site support for a North American client base. Duties will include isolating, recreating, and fixing problems as well as escalating issues to development. Qualified applicants will be expert problem solvers, possess excellent communication and interface skills, and have a solid z/OS systems programming background (knowledge of SMP/E, IPCS, VSAM, TCP/IP). Good coding skills are also a big plus (REXX, assembler preferred). Knowledge of the distributed platform is also desirable. This position can be filled in the Northern NJ or Boston, MA area. z/OS Systems Programmer (Generalist) - Stable End User

This person will assist with installation, maintenance and support of z/OS and all associated sub-systems and program products. Qualified applicants will have an MVS background that includes a minimum of five years of relevant systems experience. Strong SMP/E and advanced troubleshooting skills are a must. Experience with I/O tuning, z/VM, Linux, CICS, DB2, MQSeries, networking (VTAM, TCP/IP), ChangeMan ZMF, or CA/Compuware product knowledge is a significant plus. z/OS Systems Programmer - Small Central U.S. End User

A small Central U.S. end user has an immediate need for an experienced z/OS systems programmer to support its 3500 MIPS mainframe environment. In addition to solid z/OS installation and maintenance (SMP/E) skills, qualified will have hands on experience with systems-level troubleshooting. Desirable skills include exposure to Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP), storage management, Distaster Recovery planning, DB2, MQSeries, CICS, and REXX coding. Experience with Control-M or Control-O is also a plus. Salary commensurate with experience. Company-paid relocation.
