z/OS Systems Programmer - Multiple Work Locations

A global financial organization is offering a choice of several mid-Atlantic or Central US work locations for an experienced z/OS Systems Programmer. Qualified candidates will have proven expertise supporting z/OS in a large multi-CPU, multi-Sysplex environment. Experience with SMP/E installation, maintenance and support of a large variety of program products is required, with a preference for expertise with GDPS/PPRC, REXX, SYNCSORT, CA-1/7/11, OPSMVS, CA-Common Services, MIMGR, FileAid, EZPLUS, CMDB and/or CA-LDAP. Additional requirements include excellent problem determination skills (Sysview, Mainview, or CMF a plus) along with Disaster Recovery planning and support. This position offers an outstanding career track as well as a competitive base salary to $120K. Preference will be given to candidates local to any of their four primary locations, however, some relocation assistance may be available for ideal candidates.

z/OS Systems Programmer (Generalist) - Six-figure Salary

An established Midwest end user has an immediate need for an experienced generalist to join a small systems programming team supporting z/OS 1.13. Responsibilities will include OS and ISV product installation and maintenance using SMP/E, system performance, and systems-level problem resolution. The ideal candidate will also have experience supporting scheduling systems, preferably using Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS). One of the first tasks will be upgrading the operating system to z/OS 2.2. Knowledge of Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP), DB2, CICS. z/VM or Assembler coding is a definite plus. This person will also possess proven project development/project management skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and strong communication skills. Senior z/OS Systems Programmer - Northern Virginia

An immediate need exists for an experienced z/OS systems programmer to support a government client in Northern Virginia. Qualified candidates must have experience supporting recent z/OS environments (z/OS 1.13 or 2.1 preferred). Experience with Sysplex configuration, Unix Systems Services (USS), DB2, Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP), IODF, or HCD is a plus. Responsibilities will include OS and ISV installation and maintenance, so in-depth experience with SMP/E is a must. In addition to traditional duties such as problem determination/resolution, performance tuning and end user support, this person will assist with planning, coordinating and managing technical projects as well as providing strategy for implementation of new technologies. z/OS Systems Programmer - Washington, DC Suburbs

Our very stable client seeks an up and coming systems programmer to assist in supporting their z/OS environment. This person should have rudimentary mainframe support skills in any of the following areas: z/OS, CICS, DB2, performance tuning, storage management, program product support, or z/OS-related troubleshooting. SMP/E installation and maintenance experience is a big plus. Salary will be commensurate with experience (up to the low $80s).

Senior z/OS Systems Programmer - Long Term 1099 or W2 Contract

A Nebraska-based mainframe shop seeks a senior z/OS contractor to maintain and enhance their z/OS 2.1 operating system and related subsystems. Qualified applicants will have solid mainframe systems programming skills that include previous z/OS installs and strong SMP/E skills. Excellent system-level troubleshooting is also a must. Good DFSMS-managed storage expertise, while not required, would be a significant plus. Other desirable skills include experience with performance tuning, WLM, I/O configuration (HCD, HMC), UNIX System Services (USS), and mainframe security (RACF). This is a three year minimum contract with likely extensions well into the future. Hourly rate commensurate with experience. No telecommuting is available for this opportunity.
