z/OS Product Developer - Work from Home

An internationally known software vendor has an immediate need for a strong 390/assembler developer with a z/OS internals background. This person will be a key individual in the design and development of debugging tools used by applications programmers. Qualified applicants will have in-depth experience with MVS supervisor services, access registers, cross memory services, and data management facilities. Exceptional troubleshooting skills are also required, which should include heavy SVC dump analysis (IPCS) and GTF traces. Experience with DB2, IMS, CICS, COBOL, or LE is a big plus. Previous commercial product development experience is highly desirable. Salary commensurate with experience.

Senior z/OS Systems Programmer - Long Term 1099 or W2 Contract

A Nebraska-based mainframe shop seeks a senior z/OS contractor to maintain and enhance their z/OS 2.1 operating system and related subsystems. Qualified applicants will have solid mainframe systems programming skills that include previous z/OS installs and strong SMP/E skills. Excellent system-level troubleshooting is also a must. Good DFSMS-managed storage expertise, while not required, would be a significant plus. Other desirable skills include experience with performance tuning, WLM, I/O configuration (HCD, HMC), UNIX System Services (USS), and mainframe security (RACF). This is a three year minimum contract with likely extensions well into the future. Hourly rate commensurate with experience. No telecommuting is available for this opportunity.

Mainframe Systems Programmer - Washington, DC Suburbs

A great opportunity exists with a stable end user for an experienced systems programmer with rudimentary z/OS skills. Qualified applicants will have utilized REXX, CLIST, and ISPF panel customization for automating mainframe-related processes and have experience installing non-SMP/E formatted ISV products. Expertise with Change Management products (ChangeMan, Endevor, etc.), XML, DB2, CICS, or assembler is a big plus. This person will learn and assist with all aspects of change management product installation, customization, report generation, auditing, process management, security, and support. Senior z/OS Product Developer - Possible Telecommute

A prominent U.S. software vendor, based in the NYC area, has a high profile development position available for someone with solid z/OS internals and strong S/390 assembly language coding skills. This person will make an immediate impact for a very dynamic ISV that produces software used by thousands of companies in over 70 countries. Experience should include working knowledge of I/O access, memory management, control blocks, dataspaces, access registers, and supervisor states. Experience with C/C++, Java, PL/1, or REXX is a significant plus. Previous commercial product development experience is an absolute must. Base salary potential to the mid $100s. z/OS Systems Programmer with DB2 - Employer Committed to the Mainframe

A Southeast U.S. end user has a great opportunity for an experienced mainframe systems programmer with some DB2 systems expertise and solid z/OS fundamentals. This person will assist with the installation, maintenance, tuning, and support of DB2 and all associated program products. Qualified applicants will have an MVS background that includes a minimum of two years of relevant DB2 systems experience and a total of five or more years of mainframe-oriented systems support. Strong SMP/E and good troubleshooting skills are a must. Experience with CICS, I/O tuning, z/VM, Linux, MQSeries, networking (VTAM, TCP/IP), ChangeMan ZMF, or CA product support is a significant plus.
