z/OS Product Developer - Work from Home

A small, privately held software vendor has an immediate need for an expert 390/assembler product developer with an intimate knowledge of z/OS and JES2 internals as well as task-level control block structures. Qualified candidates must have five or more years experience in commercial product development and a thorough understanding of MVS internals (with exposure to the operating system's spooling, scheduling, and management facilities). Strong problem determination and debugging skills (IPCS, XDC) are an absolute must. This is a work-from-home position using web-based collaboration tools for meetings and informal discussions. Senior z/OS Product Developer - Work from Home

An internationally known software vendor has a high profile product development position available for someone with solid z/OS internals and very strong 390/assembler coding skills. This person will be a key individual in the design and development of new features and releases for an acclaimed z/OS product line. Qualified applicants will have in-depth experience with MVS supervisor services, access registers, cross memory services, and data management facilities. Exceptional troubleshooting skills are also required, which should include heavy SVC dump analysis (IPCS) and GTF traces. Other desirable skills (preferred but not required) include a background in 64-bit addressing, C/C++, socket programming, TCP/IP, and VTAM. This person will be highly visible to upper level managers, customers, and the z/OS community in general. All applicants must have the ability to provide technical leadership at research and design meetings and be adept at mentoring young z/OS talent. Previous commercial product development experience is an absolute must.

z/OS Systems Programmer - Greater NY End User

A very stable end user area is seeks a z/OS systems programmer with additional experience supporting VTAM and TCP/IP to join its experienced and cohesive team. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of six years experience installing (SMP/E), maintaining and supporting the z/OS and Comm Server software running on a Sysplexed IBM EC12 mainframe. Added expertise with CICS, DB2, or IMS is a plus. Strong communications skills and the ability to work individually or in a team are essential. A small Central U.S. end user has an immediate need for an experienced z/OS systems programmer to support its 3500 MIPS mainframe environment. In addition to solid z/OS installation and maintenance (SMP/E) skills, qualified will have hands on experience with systems-level troubleshooting. Desirable skills include exposure to Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP), storage management, Disaster Recovery planning, DB2, MQSeries, CICS, and REXX coding. Senior z/OS Systems Programmer - Northern Virginia

An immediate need exists for an experienced z/OS systems programmer to support a government client in Northern Virginia. Qualified candidates will have experience supporting recent z/OS environments (z/OS 1.13 or 2.1 preferred). Experience with Sysplex configuration, Unix Systems Services (USS), Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP), IODF, or HCD is a plus. Responsibilities will include OS and ISV installation and maintenance, so in-depth experience with SMP/E is a must.
