DB2 Performance Engineer - NY/NJ Metro Area

A well-known metropolitan New York end user has an immediate need for a proven DB2 Systems Programmer to monitor a mission critical state-of-the-art DB2 data sharing environment. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of DB2 internals, with specific focus in the area of performance engineering/tuning. Qualified candidates must demonstrate thorough knowledge of DB2, including traces/IFCIDs and DB2 ISV performance tools (CA, BMC, Compuware, ASG, etc.). Additional experience in application performance tuning, SQL coding/debugging, DB2 Explain, DB2 access path assessment, and DB2 memory management is also required. REXX and Java coding expertise is also a plus. This position offers a competitive base annual salary in the low $100s, bonus eligibility, and relocation assistance or telecommuting options on a case-by-case basis.

Senior Enterprise Performance Analyst - Washington, DC Area

A DC-area end user is looking for a motivated candidate to join a group responsible for load and performance testing of enterprise applications. Position requires supporting application areas on new projects and working with various technologies, including J2EE and .NET. Proven experience in performance analysis and tuning in a z/OS SysPlex environment is essential. Familiarity with Performance Center, LoadRunner or a similar product is required. Shell programming, REXX, and/ or C/C++ is a plus. This position requires proven experience in data analysis and an understanding of performance tools such as TriTune and Strobe. Duties will include: reviewing and influencing application and system design; evaluating application processes from concept to production; monitoring daily system activity; analyzing load tests, and providing recommendations for performance and availability. Compensation includes a competitive base salary, lucrative profit sharing plan, and three weeks vacation.
