| Our dynamic client has an immediate need for a Mainframe Performance Engineer to serve as Subject Matter Expert on its mainframe infrastructure team. This SME will monitor z/OS systems and applications (CICS, IMS, and DB2) and recommend/implement enhancements to improve/optimize mainframe asset performance and availability. Qualified candidates must have in-depth technical proficiency in the capabilities and uses of z/OS performance tools such as MAINVIEW, Strobe and WLM; and demonstrate the ability to design, advocate and implement innovative mainframe performance initiatives and best practices. This performance specialist will also evaluate and direct the installation, maintenance and upgrade of current and new performance tools. | A DC-area end user is looking for a motivated candidate to join a group responsible for load and performance testing of enterprise applications. Position requires supporting application areas on new projects and working with various technologies, including J2EE and .NET. Proven experience in performance analysis and tuning in a z/OS SysPlex environment is essential. Familiarity with Performance Center, LoadRunner or a similar product is required. Shell programming, REXX, and/ or C/C++ is a plus. This position requires proven experience in data analysis and an understanding of performance tools such as TriTune and Strobe. Duties will include: reviewing and influencing application and system design; evaluating application processes from concept to production; monitoring daily system activity; analyzing load tests, and providing recommendations for performance and availability. Compensation includes a competitive base salary, lucrative profit sharing plan, and three weeks vacation. | |
