Lead CICS Systems Programmer (Apr. 2001-present) - Lead person over a four-member team responsible for systems programming support for CICS/TS 3.1 in a z/OS 1.7 Parallel Sysplex environment comprised of 250+ CICS regions. Specific duties/accomplishmnts included:
  • Lead person responsible for installation (SMP/E), customization and general system-level support for CICS/TS 3.1. Solely responsible for previous installation of CICS/TS 2.2.
  • Implemented CICSPlex SM across multiple MVS images for a large DB2 Data Sharing environment.
  • Installed and customized CICS Transaction Gateway 4.0.
  • Setup and maintained CICS-DB2 interface.
  • Implemented CICS-TCP/IP socket interface.
  • Troubleshot CICS-related systems problems using TMON/CICS as well as full-region and transaction dump analysis (IPCS, Abendaid/CICS). Also provided CICS applications-related problem diagnosis using CEDP, Xpeditor/CICS, and INTERTEST.
  • Monitored CICS performance and throughput using Omegamon/CICS and DFH0STAT. Also modified SAS programs to analzye SMF 110 records and report on current and potential transaction bottlenecks.
  • Implemented WLM (Q-mode) to balance CICSPlex workloads and improve response time.
  • Installed, maintained, and supported CICS-related software, including: TMON/CICS, Abend-AID for CICS, and Xpeditor/CICS.
  • Coded REXX routines to automate CICS-specific functions and alerts.
  • Designed and coded several CICS-related global user exits and user-replaceable modules (e.g., DTR, Autoinstall, Task Termination).
  • Assisted with CICS security by creating RACF profiles and defining the CICSPlex SM transactions to RACF.
  • Promoted to Lead CICS Systems Progammer in June 2004.
