As a result there is an immediate need for an experienced manager to oversee and grow the Distributed platform support staff. This person will manage the storage, operating systems, database and performance staffs of approximately 15 people and be responsible for an annual budget of $10-15 million. Preferred strengths include creating and executing technology plans and architecting of storage and backup solutions. Knowledge of AIX and Solaris UNIX platforms, as well as Oracle and SQL databases is preferred. Experience with VMware and IBM Power system virtualization technology is a definite plus. Superior compensation package includes a base salary plus bonus in the mid $100s range. Relocation assistance is available for exceptional candidates. | |

Qualified applicants must have a minimum of five years of solid AIX internals/administration experience, to include problem determination and resolution, software installation and maintenance, capacity planning, performance monitoring/tuning, and disaster recovery. Specific HW/SW experience in shell scripting, NIM, HMC, HACMP, J2EE, WAS, DB2 Enterprise Server, and Veritas NetBackup is highly desirable.
