This person will assist in the installation and customization of operating systems for a large z/OS environment. They will also provide analysis of new hardware to determine its need or application in existing and proposed systems. Qualified candidates will have proven experience as a z/VM systems programmer in z/OS environments and a working knowledge of z/Linux. Other highly desired experience includes: SMP/E for installation and maintenance, expert system-level troubleshooting, and z/VM performance and tuning skills (using Omegamon for z/VM preferred). | A leading provider of systems services for commercial and Federal clients has an immediate need for a Systems Architect with a strong background in z/OS and z/VM systems programming. This person will provide strategic support in the design and definition of system architecture for new and existing enterprise systems. Since this individual will provide key input for implementing solutions on z/OS, UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms, experience in a distributed environment is vital. Solid verbal communications skills are also essential for articulating the benefits and drawbacks of proposed solutions to both upper level management and technical staff members. Knowledge of VTAM, DB2, CICS, MQSeries, RACF and LDAP is highly desirable. Mid-Atlantic location. Salary to the $120s. | |
